With his thick coat of armor and fire abilities, there’s a lot to contend with. Traversing through Pandora’s Temple, Kratos is getting ever closer to his goal…except now a giant, undead minotaur stands in his path. Because this fight is still amazing and it has more than earned its place on this list.
And what’s better than climbing down its throat to pick up your key at the end? Nothing. It was a fight that made you think and work for the victory. And then the timed button presses to attack and eventually deal the final blow. Then there was the stab it until it dies sections. It was a bit of puzzling and problem solving. Everything you have to go through to defeat this water snake was satisfying. So in that day, God of War looked better and played better than anything else on the market.
#GOD OF WAR 3 BOSS SERIES#
This was back before God of War had established itself as the visceral series it is known as today, and at the time, there was nothing else quite like it.Īnd you have to remember this was back in 2005. With Kratos on a ship, killing off hordes of undead soldiers and facing off against a three-headed monster. This is the launching point of the entire series. The Hydra? Really? Why would I place the Hydra on the list of best bosses?īecause back on the PlayStation 2, I played the original God of War, and this is the very first boss you fight alongside Kratos. Going from one of the very last boss fights to the very first, some of you are nodding in approval, yet I can also sense many of you rolling your eyes. It’s no wonder why Zeus made it onto this list. Not only is Zeus vital to the plot of the two games, but also the fights against him are just so epic. Perhaps Zeus should have made it higher on this list, but I quite like him where he is. Of course, the final battle ended in untold destruction and shocked players as both Kratos and Zeus died…or so we thought. Zeus escapes to fight another day, i.e., God of War 3, and Kratos must hunt for more power to slay the gods of Olympus. Leaving behind a trail of bodies, Kratos kills gods and anyone else who stands in his way, even murdering the Sisters of Fate.Īt the end of God of War 2, players are thrown into an epic battle against Zeus that easily ranks as one of the very best of the series. What he doesn’t account for is the Spartan’s thirst for god’s blood.
From there, he does everything he can to send Kratos right back to Hades and keep him there. By this point, Zeus has already managed to betray and kill Kratos. Starting in God of War 2, things quickly become heated between father and son, setting Kratos off on his next quest for revenge. However, it doesn’t take long for the god of the skies to become a key figure. We do see him for a short time, but he quickly passes off the scene. In the flagship title, Zeus is little more than mentioned. So looking at the series as it stands right now, here are seven of the best bosses of God of War. And while there are several bosses that easily could have made it on my list, to me, these are the absolute best.
#GOD OF WAR 3 BOSS FULL#
This is a series full of grandiose bosses and legendary battles. We’ve been through a lot with Kratos and none of us can wait to see where his journey will take him next.įrom the very beginning, Santa Monica set the stage with enormous bosses and epic combat. And now, after all these years and four games later, we know him even better.
A story of rising to the top only to fall once again.īy the end of the first game, players had gotten to know this demigod rather well. In 2005, the Ghost of Sparta was first introduced to the gaming world. There was a time when God of War wasn’t the big name that it is today.
